Goliad Gaming - Server Rules Preserving Historical RP, Fair Play, and Community Spirit
General Rules
Respect Others
Treat all players and staff with respect. Harassment, hate speech, or discrimination based on race, religion, gender, or any other factor will not be tolerated.
Roleplay at All Times
Stay in character while playing. Out-of-character (OOC) chat should be kept to designated channels or marked with proper tags (e.g., "OOC:").
No Metagaming
Do not use out-of-character information to influence in-character actions.
No Powergaming
Avoid forcing actions upon other players or performing unrealistic actions that break immersion.
No RDM (Random Deathmatch)
Do not kill other players without valid roleplay reasoning.
Combat and Engagement
All combat must be initiated with appropriate roleplay. Surprise attacks should align with historical realism and proper emotes.
Do Not Exploit or Cheat
Using cheats, glitches, or exploits to gain an advantage is strictly prohibited.
Historical Accuracy
Strive to maintain historical immersion. Avoid using modern language, references, or items that break the Revolutionary War setting.
No Spamming or Advertising
Spamming chat or advertising unrelated servers, products, or services is not allowed.
Follow Staff Instructions
Staff decisions are final. If you believe a staff member is abusing their powers, report it through the appropriate channels.
Roleplay Guidelines
Character Names and Behavior
Use appropriate names that fit the Revolutionary War period. Avoid offensive or joke names. Your character's actions should align with their role (e.g., soldier, merchant, civilian).
Faction Rules
Follow the rules and chain of command for your chosen faction (e.g., Continental Army, British Redcoats, militia, or civilians). Mutinies or betrayals must have valid roleplay justification.
Interactions with Civilians
Civilians are to be treated as neutral parties unless they are actively aiding the enemy.
War Crimes and Prisoners
Avoid unnecessary violence against surrendered players or civilians. Roleplay interrogations or negotiations instead.
Combat Rules This information should be well understood by NCOs, as Enlisted or a Trainee is important to have a general idea but overall focus on listening to your NCOs orders
Line Battle Rules
Everyone needs to follow the timer at the top of your screen, do not fight during peace time. Once line battle starts you must form and maintain a line of 3+ while engaging the enemy. If there are not 5 people on each team, Line Battle Rules do not apply.
Capture Points
When on a capture point, you can ignore the Line Battle Rules. Reference the top of your screen when on a capture point to know if you are in or outside of the point. (being inside the point will have the points icon centered at the top of your screen under the timer). Being on a capture point automatically assumes you are in a firing line whether it is organized or not. You cannot attack uncontested Capture Point on your own, you must be with a group of 3 or more.
Charge Rules
Bayonets can only be used outside of a capture point if the Commander of a formation who is an NCO+ announces a charge and the ENTIRE line formation charges with bayonets. Charges end when the two groups collide, turning it into a Skirmish. You may fire your musket during a charge.
Skirmish Rules
Once a Skirmish is initiated you are once again allowed to fire your muskets. A Skirmish ends when one group is completely wiped out. You can reinforce a Skirmish but do not reinforce an already ended skirmish (Don't rush in when you have no teammates in the area).
Spawn Rules
Do not attack players in their main base (at the corners of the map), or at a captured point during peace time. Do not abuse the conquest system and use it to teleport around the map in order to gain an advantage over the enemy.
Surrender and Retreat
Players must honor surrenders. Captors may detain prisoners for a reasonable time or negotiate their release.
Base Raiding
Raids must be approved by event staff.
Please refer to our gameplay forum post for more detailed information
Building and Territory Rules
Fortification Construction
Do not abuse fortifications and use them to gain access to otherwise off limit areas (roofs of buildings, getting into a base from the back side, etc).
Claiming Territory
This is done through the capture system, do not enter an enemy owned territory during peacetime unless for non combative role playing purposes.
No Griefing
Stealing without roleplay, or intentionally disrupting others’ progress is prohibited.
Punishments
[]Breaking the rules may result in warnings, kicks, temporary bans, or permanent bans, depending on severity.
